Easy Crochet Headband
How to crochet a headband? In this simple crochet tutorial, I walk you through the steps to create a headband using a few simple steps. This crochet headband can be adjusted to fit any head size.
Crochet Headband Pattern:
Crochet Hook: H/8/5MM
Yarn: 4 Medium, Cotton, Lily Sugar N’ Creme
Attach yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Row 1: CH 3, turn.
Row 2: Place 1 SL st in the BACK BUMP of each st in the row (3 total SL st total).
Row 3: Place 1 SL st in the BLO of each st in the row (3 total SL st).
Rows 4 – 33: Repeat Row 3.
Row 34: CH 2, turn. Place 2 DC in st 1, 1 DC in st 2, 2 DC in st 3 (5 total DC st).
Row 35: CH 2, turn. Place 2 DC in st 1, 1 DC in st 2 – 4, 2 DC in st 5 (7 total DC st).
Row 36: CH 2, turn. Place 2 DC in st 1, 1 DC in st 2 – 6, 2 DC in st 7 (9 total DC st).
Row 37: CH 2, turn. Place 2 DC in st 1, 1 DC in st 2 – 8, 2 DC in st 9 (11 total DC st).
Row 38: CH 2, turn. Place 1 DC in each st in the row (11 total DC st).
Rows 39 – 45: Repeat Row 38.
Row 46: CH 2, turn. Skip st 1, place 1 DC in st 2 – 9. Skip st 10, then place 1 DC in st 11 (9 total DC st).
Row 47: CH 2, turn. Skip st 1, place 1 DC in st 2 – 7. Skip st 8, then place 1 DC in st 9 (7 total DC st).
Row 48: CH 2, turn. Skip st 1, place 1 DC in st 2 – 5. Skip st 6, then place 1 DC in st 7 (5 total DC st).
Row 49: CH 2, turn. Skip st 1, place 1 DC in st 2 – 3. Skip st 4, then place 1 DC in st 5 (3 total DC st).
Fold the two ends of the headband together, lining the corresponding stitches from the first and last row together. Place 1 SL st in each of the corresponding stitches to join the two ends. To do this, insert crochet hook under the 1st st from row 1 and the last st from the last row, yarn over and pull through both stitches to join. Repeat with remaining 2 stitches.
Cut and tie off yarn. Hide tails on current side.
Turn headband inside out.
