Crochet 1.5 Liter Wine Tote
How to crochet a wine tote for a 1.5 liter bottle? In this crochet tutorial, I show you how to make a decorative wine tote that is great as a gift bag, or to simply protect your wine bottles when you are traveling with them. This crochet pattern is suitable for other bottles as well, as long as they have a similar circumference to a 1.5L wine bottle.

- Crochet Hook: F/5/3.75MM
- Yarn: Lion Brand Respun 100% Recycled Polyster, Color: Parchment

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC).

Row 1: CH 2 and place 12 DC inside MC. Skip CH 2 and place 1 SL st in 1st DC to join (12 total DC).

Row 2: CH 2, place 2 DC in each st (this includes the current st) (24 total DC). Skip SL st and CH 2, placing 1 SL st in 1st DC to join.

Row 3: CH 2, place *1 DC in st 1, 2 DC in st 2.* First st should be placed in current st. Repeat * around the row (36 total DC). Skip SL st and CH 2, placing 1 SL st in 1st DC st.

Row 4: CH 2, place *1 DC in st 1 & 2, 2 DC in st 3.* First st should be placed in current st. Repeat * around the row (48 total DC). Skip SL st and CH 2, placing 1 SL st in the 1st DC st.

Row 5: CH 2, place 1 DC in st 1 – 3 (first st should be placed in current st). Then, working backwards, place 1 DC in the last DC st from Row 4 (make sure you aren’t working in the SL st). *Skip the next st that you haven’t worked in, place 1 DC in the following 3 st, then place 1 DC back in the skipped st.* Repeat * around the row (you should have a total of 12 cable st). Skip CH 2 and SL st into 1st DC to join.

Rows 6 – 29: Repeat Row 5.

Row 30: CH 1, place 1 SC in st 1 – 12 (first st should be placed in current st). CH 12, then skip 12 st and place 1 SC in the 13th st. Place 1 SC in the following 11 st, then CH 12 again. Skip the remaining st in the row and place 1 SL st in the 1st SC from this row.

Row 31: CH 1, place 1 SC in st 1 – 12 (first st should be placed in current st), then place 12 SC st AROUND the CH stitches that form the 1st handle. Place 1 SC in each of the st between the handles, then place 12 SC st AROUND the CH stitches that form the 2nd handle. SL st in the 1st SC to join.

Rows 32 – 37: CH 1, place 1 SC in each st in the row (first st should be placed in current st) (48 total SC st). SL st in the 1st SC to join.

Cut and tie off yarn.
