Top Portion:
Attach CAMEL yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.

Row 73: Fold in half so that the 1st and last row are aligned. Insert crochet hook in last st from Row 72 and last st from Row 1 and yarn over and pull through for a SL st. Repeat in each of the corresponding stitches until the two short edges are joined. CH 35 and SL st into the same st where you placed the CH 35. Turn inside out.
Stocking Base:
Row 1: This row is worked in the available loop at the top of each of the ridges. CH 1 and place *1 SC in the loop at the top of the 1st 5 ridges, then place 2 SC in the loop at the top of the 6th ridge.* Repeat * around the row (you should have 42 SC st. If you don’t, then make adjustments to this until you have 42 SC st). Pull yarn loop out long and remove crochet hook, but don’t cut yarn.
Row 2: Attach KHAKI yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot. Insert crochet hook in the 1st SC st created in row 1. Yarn over and pull through, then yarn over and drop the 2 loops for a SC st. Place 1 SC in each st in the row until you get close to where you pulled out the last loop of your CAMEL stitches. Pull yarn loop out long and remove crochet hook from KHAKI yarn, but don’t cut yarn.
Row 3: Re-insert crochet hook in CAMEL loop, then place 1 SC in each st in the row until you get close to the last KHAKI st. Pull yarn loop out long and remove crochet hook from CAMEL yarn, but don’t cut yarn.
Row 4: Re-insert crochet hook in KHAKI loop, then place 1 SC in each st in the row until you get close to the last CAMEL st. Pull yarn loop out long and remove crochet hook from KHAKI yarn, but don’t cut yarn.
Rows 5 – 30: Repeat Rows 3 & 4, crocheting over each row and allowing your pattern to form a spiral.
Row 31: Make sure that one of your colors is aligned with the fold where you joined the top portion of the stocking (you can use the CH 35 loop as a reference). Place 1 SC in the next 20 st, then place 5 SC in the 21 st (place 1 st marker in the 3rd of these 5 st). Place 1 SC in each st in the row until you get close to your last st from the previous color. Pull yarn loop out long and remove crochet hook.
Row 32: Re-insert crochet hook in other color and place 1 SC in each of the stitches between current st and st marker. Place 5 SC in st marker, placing st marker in the 3rd of these 5 st, then place 1 SC in each st in the rest of the row until you get close to the last st from the previous color.
Rows 33 – 37: Repeat Row 32 until you have 70 st in your row.
Rows 38 – 47: Place 1 SC in each st in the row, allowing the colors to overlap still like they have for the entire pattern.)
Row 48: End one of your colors on the folded line where you joined the top portion and placed the 35 CH loop. Place 1 SL st in the following st and then cut and tie off yarn. Pull out the stitches from the other color yarn until you are in the same st as the one you just tied off of previous color and then re-insert your crochet hook. SC 2 together for the entire row until you get back to the tied-off yarn from the previous color.
Row 49: Turn stocking inside out and fold down natural fold that is created (where we joined the top portion), and then place 1 SL st through corresponding stitches on both sides (by inserting your crochet hook up under both st and then yarning over and pulling through). Follow this pattern until the bottom of your stocking is fully joined and then cut and tie off yarn.
Turn stocking inside out again.
