Attach yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC).

Row 2: CH 1, then working back in the current st, place 2 SC, then place 2 SC in each st in the row (16 total). Skip the SL st and CH 1 at the end of the row, then place 1 SL st in the 1st SC to join.
Row 3: CH 1, then place 1 SC back in the current st. **Alternate between 2 SC then 1 SC in each st in the row (24 total st).** for the rest of the row. Skip the SL st and CH 1, then place 1 SL st in the 1st SC to join.
Row 4: Mark the last SL st in the previous row (optional). In the NEXT stitch’s FRONT LOOP, place 1 SC + 1 HDC + 1 DC. In the FLO of the next st, place 2 DC. In the FLO of the following st, place 1 DC + 1 HDC + 1 SC. Place 1 SL st in the FLO of the remaining st in the row, until you get to the last 4 st of the row. Counting backwards from the SL st, make sure you have 4 st remaining. In the FLO of the next st, place 1 SC + 1 HDC + 1 DC. In the FLO of the next st, place 2 DC. In the FLO of the following st, place 1 DC + 1 HDC + 1 SC. In the last st (this should be the SL st you previously marked), place 1 SL st.
