Crochet Striped Baby Beanie – Cascade Yarns FOUR SKEIN Challenge – Beanie 4
This easy, no tails, ribbed and striped beanie is surprisingly easy to make! Follow along as I show you step-by-step how to crochet this beanie.
This pattern is a part of my cascade yarns 4 skein challenge. With this challenge, my goal is to create patterns that will allow you to use up EVERY INCH of your yarn without leaving any behind! This series features five beanies: 3 adult beanies, 1 child beanie, and 1 baby beanie. Don’t forget to check out my scrap yarn beanie if you have a bunch of small amounts of yarn lying around you need to use up!

Striped Baby Beanie Crochet Pattern
Crochet Hook: H/8/5.00MM
Yarn: 4 Medium Wool, Cascade Yarns, Colors: Alpine & Copper
Attach yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC) with Color A.
Row 1: CH 2 and place 11 DC inside MC. SL st in 1st DC to join (11 total DC st).
Row 2: Starting in current st, place 2 BACK POST st in each st in the row – ending with the CH 2 post at the end of the row. Work last st around the CH 2 at the end of the row. SL st in 1st BACK POST st to join (24 total BACK POST st).
Insert a safety pin in the loop that is on your crochet hook to secure it. Attach Color B to the crochet hook using a slip knot. Insert crochet hook in the current st (last BACK POST st). Yarn over and pull through all the loops on your crochet hook.
Row 3: CH 2, then working in the following st, place 2 DC. Alternate between 1 & 2 DC st around the row. SL st in 1st DC to join (36 total DC st).
Row 4: Place *1 BACK POST st in st 1 & 2, then 2 BACK POST st in st 3.* Repeat * around the row. Work last st around the CH 2 at the end of the row. SL st in 1st BACK POST st to join (48 total BACK POST st).
Insert a safety pin in the loop that is on your crochet hook to secure it. Attach Color C to the crochet hook using a slip knot. Insert crochet hook in the current st (last BACK POST st). Yarn over and pull through all the loops on your crochet hook.
Row 5: CH 2, then place 1 DC in each st in the row. SL st in 1st DC to join (47 total DC st).
Row 6: Place 1 BACK POST st in each st in the row – starting with current st and ending with CH 2 at the end of the row (48 total BACK POST st).
Add safety pin to current loop. Pull loop for Color A and insert crochet hook in it, then CH 6. Place 1 SL st in current st (last BACK POST st).
Rows 7 – 16: Repeat Rows 5 & 6, switching colors every 2 rows.
Cut and tie off all three colors.
