Colors: Rust, Sea Glass, Full Moon
Crochet Hook: G/6/4.25MM

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Loop.

Row 1: CH 2, place 12 DC inside the MC.  SL st into the 1st DC (12 total DC st).

Row 2:  CH 2, then place 2 DC in each st in the row, starting with the next st and ending with the SL st at the end of the row.  SL st into the 1st DC st (24 total DC st).

Row 3: CH 2, then alternate between placing 1 DC in st 1 and 2 DC in st 2, starting with the next st and ending with the SL st at the end of the row.  SL st in the 1st DC st (36 total DC st).

Row 4: CH 2, then place 1 DC in the BLO of each st in the row.  SL st in  the 1st DC st (36 total DC st).

Row 5: Attach the next color to crochet hook using a slip knot, then place 1 FRONT POST st around the last st of the previous row, then place 1 BACK POST st around the CH 2 and 1st DC st from the previous row.  From here, alternate between FRONT and BACK POST stitches.  SL st in the 1st FRONT POST st to join (36 POST stitches).

Rows 6 –  30: Attach the next color to crochet hook using a slip knot, then place 1 FRONT POST st around any of the previous row’s BACK POST stitches.  From here, alternate between BACK and FRONT POST stitches, reversing the stitch from the previous row.  SL st in the 1st POST stitch to join (36 POST stitches).

Row 31: Attach next color to crochet hook using a slip knot.  Place 1 SC in the 1st st of this row, then CH 30, skip 14 stitches and then place 1 SC in the following 2 st.  CH 30, then place 1 SC in the 2nd & 3rd st of this row.  CH 30 again, then place 1 SC in the st after the two SC stitches on the other side (this should be the 18th st of the row).

Cut and tie off yarn, leaving a 15-foot tail, then wind the tail over the chain loops tightly.  When you make it to the other side, secure the tail with the starting tail, then hide down the center of the wine tote.

Repeat these steps in the remaining stitches of the row to form the second handle.
