DIY Crochet Beanie – Day 25 – Diamond Shaped Beanie Tutorial
How to crochet a beanie? In this tutorial, I show you how to crochet a beanie that has a diamond pattern. This beanie works quickly and shouldn’t take you more than 2 hours to complete. The colors used in this pattern can easily be exchanged to fit whatever color scheme you like.

Crochet Hook: F / 5 / 3.75MM

Row 1: Create a brim that is 13 st deep and roughly 17’’ wide. Connect the two edges of the brim with SL stitches. Section off the brim into four even sections using scrap pieces of yarn or st markers. CH 2, then place 79 DC around the edge of the brim, trying to get the stitches as evenly spaced as possible (80 total st at end of row – this includes CH 2 st).
Row 2: Following continuous loop pattern (we won’t be starting or stopping each individual row, but it will act as more of a spiral), place *1 FRONT POST st in st 1 (this is the CH 2 st), then place 1 BACK POST ST in st 2 – 8.* Repeat * 9 times.
Row 3: 1 BACK POST ST in st 1 (previously a FRONT POST st), 1 FRONT POST st in st 2, 1 BACK POST st in st 3 – 7, then 1 FRONT POST st in st 8, 1 BACK POST st in st 9, then 1 FRONT POST st in st 10. Then place *1 BACK POST st in next 5 st, then place 1 FRONT POST st, then 1 BACK POST st, then 1 FRONT POST st,* then repeat * around your row.
Row 4: 1 BACK POST st in st 1 – 2, then 1 FRONT POST st in st 3, then 1 BACK POST st in st 4 – 6, then 1 FRONT POST st in st 7. *1 BACK POST st in next 3 st, then 1 FRONT POST st, 1 BACK POST st in next 3 st, then 1 FRONT POST st.* Repeat * around the row.
Row 5: 1 BACK POST st in next 4 st, then 1 FRONT POST st in st 5, 1 BACK POST st in st 6, 1 FRONT POST st in st 7. *1 BACK POST st in next 5 st, then 1 FRONT POST st, 1 BACK POST st, 1 FRONT POST st.* Repeat * around the row.

Row 10: *1 BACK POST st in st 1 – 7, then 1 FRONT POST st in 8th.* Repeat * around the row.
Rows 11 – 15: Repeat rows 3 – 6.
Row 16: *1 SC in st 1 – 6, SC 2together in st 7 & 8.* Repeat * around the row. (70 total st at end of row).
Row 17: *1 SC in st 1 – 5, SC 2together in st 6 & 7.* Repeat * around the row. (60 total st at end of row).
Row 18: *1 SC in st 1 – 4, SC 2together in st 5 & 6.* Repeat * around the row. (50 total st at end of row).
Row 19: *1 SC in st 1 – 3, SC 2together in st 4 & 5.* Repeat * around the row. (40 total st at end of row).
Row 20: *1 SC in st 1 – 2, SC 2together in st 3 & 4.* Repeat * around the row. (30 total st at end of row).
Row 21: *1 SC in st 1, SC 2together in st 2 & 3.* Repeat * around the row. (20 total st at end of row).

SL st in st across from small hole to close the gap.
