DIY Crochet Beanie – Day 28 – Quick and Easy Beanie Pattern
How to crochet a beanie? In this tutorial, I show you how to crochet a beanie using a very simple SC pattern that is extremely easy to follow. This beanie works quickly and shouldn’t take you more than 1 hour to complete. The colors used in this pattern can easily be exchanged to fit whatever color scheme you like, and using two different colors will completely change the look of this beanie pattern.

Chunky Beanie Crochet Pattern:
Crochet Hook: K / 10.5 / 6.5 MM
Yarn: 4 Medium ~ 2 Strands ~ Big Twist Value brand (any yarn will work for this pattern)
Note: for this entire pattern, we will be treating the two strands of yarn like they are one, crocheting them simultaneously.
Magic Circle
Row 1: 6 SC inside MC.
Row 2: Following continuous loop pattern (we won’t be starting and stopping each row, but it will act like a spiral), place 2 SC in the BACK LOOP ONLY (BLO) of each st in the row (12 total st at end of row).
Row 3: *1 SC in BLO of st 1, 2 SC in BLO of st 2.* Repeat * around the row (18 total st at end of row).
Row 4: *1 SC in BLO of st 1 – 2, 2 SC in BLO of st 3.* Repeat * around the row (24 total st at end of row).
Row 5: *1 SC in BLO of st 1 – 3, 2 SC in BLO of st 4.* Repeat * around the row (30 total st at end of row).
Row 6: *1 SC in BLO of st 1 – 4, 2 SC in BLO of st 5.* Repeat * around the row (36 total st at end of row).
Row 6: *1 SC in BLO of st 1 – 5, 2 SC in BLO of st 6.* Repeat * around the row (42 total st at end of row).
Row 7: 1 SC in BLO of each st in the row.
Repeat until this reaches your desired length (for me, this was 28 rows).
Place 1 SL in the BLO of the next 5 st, then 1 SL st in next 10 st.
Cut and tie off yarn.
