How to Crochet a Beanie – Day 45 – DIY Crochet Colorful Beanie

How to crochet a simple beanie?  In this tutorial, I show you how to create a beanie that is very colorful and also very simple to follow.  This beanie only requires two stitches to complete: the Slip st and Chain st.  With these two stitches, you can create this very simple, ultra warm, and extremely colorful beanie!  The colors used in this pattern can easily be exchanged to fit whatever color scheme you like.

Crochet Simple Colorful Beanie Pattern:

Crochet Hook: F / 5 / 3.75MM
Yarn: 4 Medium ~ Big Twist Value brand, Multiple colors (any brand of yarn should work for this project).
Row 1: CH 60, turn.
Row 2: 1 SL in BACK BUMP of each st in row.  Yarn over with next color on last st (64 total st at end of row). CH 1, turn.
Rows 3 – 4: 1 SL in BACK LOOP ONLY of each st (except turning CH) in row, CH 1, turn.  On last st of 2nd row, yarn over with next color (and then CH 1 and turn).
Repeat until this stretches comfortably around your head, or between 15 – 19 inches, depending on the size of the head of the person you’re crocheting this for.  End your last row where your crochet hook is on the opposite side of your starting tail, then secure the two edges together by placing 1 SL in the outer loop in the corresponding stitches on both edges.
Cut and tie off yarn.
Cut a strand of yarn ~ 1.5 feet.  Weave strand through the loops on the edge of the side where your starting and ending tails are.  Pull two yarn ends tight to close up the edge, and tie off.
