DIY Crochet Beanie – Day 37 – Crochet Knit-Like Beanie
How to crochet a beanie? In this tutorial, I show you how to crochet a beanie that is extra warm and comfy, using two different colors of yarn. This is a knit-look crochet pattern that creates a crochet being with knit-like stitches. This beanie works quickly and shouldn’t take you more than 2 hours to complete. The colors used in this pattern can easily be exchanged to fit whatever color scheme you like.

Knit-Like Crochet Beanie Pattern:
Crochet Hook: F / 5 / 3.75MM
Yarn: 4 Medium ~ Big Twist Value brand, two colors

Row 1: Color A: Create a brim that is 18 st deep and roughly 16’’ wide. Connect the two edges of the brim with SL stitches. Fold brim in half lengthwise. Section off the brim into four even sections using scrap pieces of yarn or st markers. SL st into corresponding st on the opposite edge of your brim (yarning over with Color B) and CH 3, then place 80 DC stitches along the edges of the brim, connecting them together as your work (CH 3 counts as 1st DC st). SL st into top of CH 3 st.
Row 2: 1 FRONT POST st in each st in the row, SL st into top of 1st POST st.
Row 3: Repeat Row 2, SL st into top of 1st POST st, yarning over with Color A.
Row 4: CH 3, place 1 DC in each st in the row. SL st into top of CH 3 st.
Row 5: 1 BACK POST st in each st in the row, SL st into top of 1st POST st.
Row 6: Repeat row 5.
Row 7: 1 SC in the BACK POST of each st in the row. SL st into top of 1st SC st, yarning over with Color B.
Row 8: CH 3. Place 1 DC in each st in the row. SL st into top of CH 3 st.
Row 9: 1 FRONT POST st in each st in the row, SL st into top of 1st POST st.
Row 10: Repeat Row 2, SL st into top of 1st POST st, yarning over with Color A.
Row 11: CH 3, place *1 DC in next 5 st (6 if you count CH 3), then DC 2together in st 7 & 8.* Repeat * around the row (70 total st at end of row). SL st in top of CH 3 st.
Row 12: 1 BACK POST st in st 1 – 5, BACK POST 2together in st 6 & 7 (60 total st at end of row). SL st into top of 1st st.
Row 13: 1 BACK POST st in st 1 – 4, BACK POST 2together in st 5 & 6 (50 total st at end of row). SL st into top of 1st st.
Row 14: 1 SC BACK POST st in st 1 – 3, SC BACK POST 2together in st 4 & 5 (40 total st at end of row). SL st into top of 1st st.
Row 13: CH 3, place *1 DC in next st (2 if you count CH 3), then DC 2together in st 3 & 4.* Repeat * around the row (30 total st at end of row). SL st in top of CH 3 st.
Row 14: *1 FRONT POST st in st 1, FRONT POST 2together in st 2 & 3 (20 total st at end of row). SL st into top of 1st st.
Row 15: FRONT POST 2together in every st in the row until the hole becomes very small.
SL st into st on the opposite edge of current st to close the gap.
