How to Crochet a Wine Tote – Crochet Bottle Tote and Koozie
How to crochet a wine tote? In this crochet tutorial, I show you how to crochet a simple bottle tote that looks elegant, but shouldn’t take you more than 1 hour to complete. Crochet Wine Tote Pattern:
Crochet Hook: G / 6 / 4.25mm
Yarn: 4 Medium, Big Twist Value Brand, Eggplant
Magic Circle (MC)
Row 1: CH 2 + 12 DC inside MC. SL st into top of 1st DC st to join row.
Row 2: CH 2, place 2 DC in the same st as SL st, then place 2 DC in each st in the row (24 total st + CH 2). SL st into top of 1st DC st to join.
Row 3: CH 2, place 1 DC in the same st at SL st, then alternate between placing 1 then 2 DC in each st in the row (current st should have 2 DC) (36 total st + CH 2 at end of row). SL st into top of 1st DC st to join.
Row 4: CH 2, place 1 DC in the BLO of the same st as SL st, then place 1 DC in the BLO of each st in the row (36 total st + CH 2). SL st into top of 1st DC st to join.
Row 5: For this row, we will be working the top portion of our DC st, as well as the Front Loops Only from the previous row. Skip next FLO and place 1 TR in the next front loop. Working in the top of the st, place 1 SC in the next 3 st (this should be the st directly beside the st where we placed our SL st to join). *Place 1 TR in the same Front Loop where we have already worked, but when two loops remain on the crochet hook, yarn over, skip the next 3 front loops, and insert your crochet hook in the 4th loop from the current. Yarn over and drop the loop, then yarn over and drop 2 loops, then yarn over and drop last 3 loops. Working in the top of the st, skip 1 st, then place 1 SC in the next 3 st.* Repeat * around the row. Join the last two st by working in current front loop, but insert crochet hook up under the 1st TR from this row, then yarn over and drop all loops on crochet hook. SL st into the top of the 1st TR.
Row 6: CH 2, place 1 DC in the same st as the SL st, then place 1 DC in each st in the row (36 total st + CH 2). SL st into top of 1st DC to join.
Row 7: Place TR underneath the previous 2 TR that form the arch directly below crochet hook. When 2 loops remain on crochet hook, yarn over and insert crochet hook underneath the 2 TR that form the next arch. Yarn over, drop the 2 TR, then yarn over and drop 2 loops, then yarn over and drop 3 loops. Working in the top of the st, skip 1 st, then place 1 SC in the next 3 st. *Place 1 TR under the 2 TR that form the same arch we’ve already worked. When 2 loops remain on crochet hook, yarn over and insert crochet hook under the 2 TR that form the next arch. Yarn over and drop the 2 TR, then yarn over and drop 2 loops, then yarn over and drop remaining 3 loops. Working in the top of the st again, skip 1 st, then place 1 SC in the next 3 st.* Repeat * around the row. At the end of the row, place 1 TR under the 2 TR that form the last arch that we have worked. When 2 loops remain on the crochet hook, yarn over and insert crochet hook under the 2 TR that we worked for our 1st st of this row. Yarn over and pull through the 2 TR, then yarn over and drop 2 loops, then yarn over and drop 3 loops. Working in the top of the st, skip 1 st, then place 1 SC in the next 3 st. SL st into the next st.
Rows 8 – 38: Repeat rows 6 & 7.
Row 39: CH 1, place 1 SC in the same st as SL st. Place 1 SC in next 8 st. CH 9 and skip 9 st, placing 1 SC in the 10th st. Place 1 SC in next 8 st, then CH 9. SL st into the top of the 1st SC from this row.
Row 40: CH 1, place 1 SC in the same st as SL st. Place 1 SC in next 8 st. Place 9 SC AROUND the CH stitches. Place 1 SC in the next 9 st, then place 9 SC AROUND the chain st. SL st into the top of the 1st SC from this row.
Row 41: CH 1, place 1 SC in the same st as SL st. Place 1 SC in each st in the row.
Rows 42 – 45: Repeat Row 41.
Cut and tie off yarn.
