Porky Sees Grand Tetons National Park
Today was absolutely insane! This was my first time in Wyoming, and I almost jumped out of my coat when I saw my first bison. I didn’t realize that bison were going to become a regular part of my life in Wyoming until later.
My parents stopped about a million times to take pictures along the drive. I was getting so annoyed watching them, but I kept my cool because I was very excited to get into the park.
The first night I was terrified of seeing a Grizzly bear. I heard that they like the taste of small dogs, so Charlie and I tried to be as vigilant as we could. We stopped by Jackson Lake, and it was really fun to sit on the rocks – did you know the beach here doesn’t have any sand? I didn’t. We got some serious RnR by the lake before my parents took us on a little adventure to Jenny Lake. When I saw Jenny lake, I wondered why we even bothered with Jackson Lake, but then I realized it was because they wanted to be around us, and we were able to get a lot closer to Jackson Lake than Jenny Lake.
After we made it home, I passed out and slept for at least 12 hours, maybe more. The next day, we explored the campground and my parents went on a long adventure across the lake. They hiked up to Cascade Canyon and back and said it was fun. I was fine not joining them, because it seemed like a lot of walking to me, but Charlie was distraught with being left out.
