Crochet Flat Circle Using Single Crochet Stitch – Basket Base
How to crochet a flat circle using the single-crochet stitch? In this tutorial, I show you a beginner-friendly way to crochet a simple, flat circle. This flat circle crochet pattern is a perfect base for baskets, beanies, etc. I wouldn’t recommend this project as a standalone project, but it is perfect to create the base of circular patterns. How to Crochet a Flat Circle Using Single Crochet Stitch (For Beginners) Pattern:
Yarn: 4 Medium, unless specified differently in project video.
Crochet Hook: G / 6/ 4.25MM, unless specified differently in project video.
*Note: CH 1 in each row does not count as a st, and should be skipped at the end of each row when placing the SL st in the 1st SC st. First SC st of each row should be placed in the SAME st as SL st.
Begin with Magic Circle (MC).
Row 1: CH 1 and place 6 SC inside MC. SL st into top of 1st SC st.
Row 2: CH 1, place 2 SC in each st in the row (12 total st). SL st into top of 1st SC st.
Row 3: CH 1, *1 SC in st 1, 2 SC in st 2.* Repeat * around the row (18 total st). SL st into top of 1st SC st.
