Crochet Ornament Coaster
How to crochet a Christmas coaster? In this very easy crochet tutorial, I show you how to crochet ornament coasters that are great for the holiday season! These coasters are fun DIY Christmas decor items that would also make great gifts. Create a set to follow along with our Christmas four skein challenge!

This pattern is a part of my four-skein challenge, where I see how many different Christmas crochet projects I can make using only four skeins of yarn.

Ornament Coasters Pattern:
Crochet Hook: F / 5 / 3.75MM
Yarn: 4 Medium, Big Twist Value brand, Black & Cream
Coaster:
Row 1: MC, 13 DC inside MC. SL st into 2nd DC st to join (12 total DC).
Row 2: CH 2, place 2 DC in each st in the row (1st st should be placed in the same st where you placed the SL st from the previous row – 24 total DC st. SL st in 1st DC to join.
Row 3: CH 2, place *1 DC in st 1, 2 DC in st 2.* Repeat * around the row (1st st should be placed in same st where you placed the SL st from the previous row – 36 total DC st). SL st in 1st DC to join.
Row 4: Row 3: CH 2, place *1 DC in st 1 – 2, 2 DC in st 3.* Repeat * around the row (1st st should be placed in the same st where you placed the SL st from the previous row – 48 total DC st). SL st in 1st DC to join.
Cut and tie off yarn.
Repeat above steps to create the other side of the coaster.
Ornament:
Row 1: MC, 13 DC inside MC. SL st into 2nd DC st to join (12 total DC).
Row 2: CH 2, place 2 DC in each st in the row (1st st should be placed in the same st where you placed the SL st from the previous row – 24 total DC st. SL st in 1st DC to join.
Row 3: CH 1, place 1 SC in first 4 st (1st st should be placed in the same st where you placed the SL st from the previous row).
Cut and tie off yarn.
Assembly:
Attach the ornament to center of coaster, using tails to “sew” it on.
Aline the two coasters – wrong sides touching, and place 1 SC in each of the corresponding stitches AROUND the coaster edge.
Hide the tails between the two coaster halves.
