DIY Crochet Beanie – Day 43 – Knit Like Crochet Beanie
ow to crochet a beanie? In this tutorial, I show you how to crochet a beanie that is extra warm and comfy, using only two stitches. This is a knit-look crochet pattern that creates a crochet being with knit-like stitches. This beanie works quickly and shouldn’t take you more than 2 hours to complete. The colors used in this pattern can easily be exchanged to fit whatever color scheme you like.

Knit-Like Crochet Beanie Pattern:
Crochet Hook: F / 5 / 3.75MM
Yarn: 4 Medium ~ Big Twist Value brand

Row 1: Crochet a brim that is 20 st deep and roughly 16 inches wide. Connect the two edges of the brim using SL st (detailed in tutorial). Section the brim off into 4 equal parts and place 100 SL st along the edge of the brim, using the 4 sections to try to place the stitches as evenly as possible.
Rows 2 – 3: Following a continuous loop pattern, place 1 SL in the Back Loop Only (BLO) of each st in the row.
Rows 4 – 5: Place 1 SL st in the Front Loop Only (FLO) of each st in the row.
Rows 6 – 8: Place 1 SL in the BLO of each st in the row.
Rows 9 – 10: Place 1 SL in the FLO of each st in the row.
Rows 11 – 28: Repeat rows 6-10 4 times, then rows 6 – 8 1 more time.
Row 29: *1 SL in FLO of st 1 – 9, skip st 10.* Repeat * around the row (90 total st at end of row).
Row 30: *1 SL in FLO of st 1 – 8, skip st 9.* Repeat * around the row (80 total st at end of row).
Row 31: *1 SL in BLO of st 1 – 7, skip st 8.* Repeat * around the row (70 total st at end of row).
Row 32: *1 SL in BLO of st 1 – 6, skip st 7.* Repeat * around the row (60 total st at end of row).
Row 33: *1 SL in BLO of st 1 – 5, skip st 6.* Repeat * around the row (50 total st at end of row).
Row 34: *1 SL in FLO of st 1 – 4, skip st 5.* Repeat * around the row (40 total st at end of row).
Row 35: *1 SL in FLO of st 1 – 3, skip st 4.* Repeat * around the row (30 total st at end of row).
Row 36: *1 SL in BLO of st 1 – 2, skip st 3.* Repeat * around the row (20 total st at end of row).
Row 37 – 39: *1 SL in BLO of st 1, skip st 2.* Repeat until hole becomes very small.
SL st into st on opposite side of hole and cut and tie off yarn.
