How to Crochet an Extra Warm Beanie
How to crochet a simple extra warm beanie? In this tutorial, I show you how to create this very simple and extra warm beanie. This beanie pattern should only take an hour or two and is perfect for cold winter days. Having a double brim is crucial for keeping your ears warm on windy days and will give the bottom edge a more professional look.

Crochet an Extra Warm Beanie Pattern:
Crochet Hook Size: F / 5 / 3.75MM
Yarn Size: 4 Medium
BRIM:
Row 1: CH 21, turn
Row 2: 1 SL Back Loop Only (BLO) each st across (20 total st at end of row), CH 1, turn.
Row 3: Repeat Row 2 until the brim reaches 14-15 inches.
Crochet edge together by placing 1 SL through each st of the edges, crocheting them together.
Main:
Row 1: Fold the brim in half length-wise, and place 80 SC in brim, using st markers to ensure you keep the stitches even, and also crocheting the two edges together with each SC st.
Row 2: 1 SC in the BLO of each st across. When you get to the end of row, don’t start or stop the row, just continue crocheting in the 1st st of the row.
Rows 3 – 14: Repeat Row 2.
Row 15: *1 SC in the BLO of the first 8 st, SC 2 together in st 9 & 10.* Repeat * around the row (72 st total at end of row).
Row 16: *1 SC in the BLO of the first 7 st, SC 2 together in st 8 & 9.* Repeat * around the row (64 st total at end of row).
Row 17: *1 SC in the BLO of the first 6 st, SC 2 together in st 7 & 8.* Repeat * around the row (56 st total at end of row).
Row 18: *1 SC in the BLO of the first 5 st, SC 2 together in st 6 & 7.* Repeat * around the row (48 st total at end of row).
Row 19: *1 SC in the BLO of the first 4 st, SC 2 together in st 5 & 6.* Repeat * around the row (40 st total at end of row).
Row 20: *1 SC in the BLO of the first 3 st, SC 2 together in st 4 & 5.* Repeat * around the row (32 st total at end of row).
Row 21: *1 SC in the BLO of the first 2 st, SC 2 together in st 3 & 4.* Repeat * around the row (24 st total at end of row).
Row 22: *1 SC in the BLO of the first st, SC 2 together in st 2 & 3.* Repeat * around the row (16 st total at end of row).
Row 22: *1 SC in the BLO of the first st, SC 2 together in st 2 & 3.* Repeat * around the row (16 st total at end of row).
Row 22: *SC 2 together* Repeat * until the gap is closed. Insert hook into st opposite crochet hook when hole is very small and place 1 SL.
Your beanie is now complete!
