Porky Sees Salt Lake City
We arrived in Salt Lake City just as a big storm hit. I didn’t see much rain, but the wind was crazy and I didn’t want to leave the safety of the camper the first night. Charlie and I did leave briefly, and I was so glad that I made it out because I got to meet a DINGO! Being a fellow Australian, I was very excited to meet her, but Charlie was so scared of her that we had to leave the dog park.
By morning, the wind cleared and we went on an adventure to the Great Salt Lake State Park. I wasn’t excited about the Salt Lake because I am not a big fan of water, but then I discovered that the lake was low due to drought and over-farming. Boy did it smell heavenly. Charlie and I couldn’t believe our luck as we trekked across the dried-up lake bed, chasing flies and feeling the sand on our paws.
My parents had to drag us away after an hour or so, but I could have stayed there forever.
It turns out that seeing the salt lake wasn’t my only adventure. I got to climb Mt. Everest as well. My parents kept telling me that it wasn’t Mt. Everest, but something called Ensign Peak, but I know what I saw (and felt – that was such a big climb I’m still sore today). But the view from the top was incredible! I could see the entire city, the Great Salt Lake, sunset, and everyone was so friendly and well-dressed. They all commented on how cute I am.
All in all, I really loved Salt Lake, and I wish I could go back, but we are on to our next place now.
