Finish off: Place 1 SL st in the FULL next st, then turn work.  Working in the FLO from the last st we just worked, place 1 SC.  Place 1 SC in each of the FLO (working in a spiral) until you get to the last FLO at the beginning of the basket.  Cut and tie off yarn.

Finishing touch on the basket:

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Insert crochet hook 3 stitches before the awkward seam created when beginning to place the SC stitches in the FLO.  Place 1 SC here and then 1 SC in each st in the row.  SL st in 1st SC to join and cut and tie off yarn.  Hide tails on the inside of the basket.

Handle:

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Insert crochet hook somewhere near the middle of the basket, place 1 SC then CH 8 and place 1 SC in the 3rd st from starting SC.  CH 1, turn work, place SC stitches OVER the CH stitches that form the handle (the number of SC stitches needed will vary, but somewhere around 12 stitches should work).  SL st in original SC st insertion and then cut and tie off yarn, hiding the tails up the inside of the basket.
